Counting of votes for 105 urban local bodies (ULBs) in Karnataka began on Monday morning at 8 a.m. The results of body elections held on August 31 are expected to be late by late evening or by Tuesday morning. Voting was done in 2,633 wards of 29 municipalities, 53 town municipalities and 23 town panchayats and 135 wards of three municipal corporations.
In the urban local body elections, results of 2267 out of 2664 seats have been declared. Among them, Congress has made an edge. Congress has won 846 seats, BJP 788 and JDS has won 307 seats. Independent candidates won 277 seats.
